ABOUT
Support at Home
The Support at Home program is Australia’s new single, government-funded aged care initiative that replaces previous Home Care and Restorative Care programs, effective 1 November 2025. It provides assessed clients with funding toward a mix of in-home services (personal care, domestic assistance, social support), clinical care (nursing, allied health), and supports like assistive technology or home modifications tailored to each person’s needs. As the needs of the individual change, reassessments can adjust the level of support allocated.

Yes. Occupational Therapists play a key role in providing evidence to support funding requests. This includes Functional Assessments, Assistive Technology reports, risk assessments, and clinical justifications that clearly outline why specific supports are required.
Our services can be delivered at the participant’s home, workplace, or community environment, depending on individual needs and goals. Community-based assessments are often essential to accurately understand real-world functional challenges.
